Running does burn more calories than walking - so what?
I love walking. I stroll and walk and sing in my head.
My running voice - not so much.
It is a proven fact that running DOES burn more calories than walking - that I'm not going to dispute.
However, it is good to take the total picture into account.
To get ready for calories burned walking:
1) Get mp3 player with audiobook
2) Slip on comfortable shoes
3) Walk
To get ready for a run:
1) Get mp3 player
2) Change
3) Put on running shoes
4) Run
5) Shower
6) Change again
It's often been quoted, that with many steps to something, it often doesn't get done - the optimum isn't better if you don't do it!
Calories burned walking aren't the quickest way to reduce calories, but they are often the most convenient and easy to fit into your lifestyle.
If you're in a busy mode, or time in your life, it's a way to ensure that you're getting some exercise in your life.
To focus on the types of exercise and how you'd like to burn calories, your best option is to get a personal trainer, or somebody qualified to help you with figuring this out, and work with them to put exercise into your lifestyle.
Until then, my advise is to follow the path of least resistance, and get out there and do it!
A person can spend weeks looking for the best solution, but if you're focusing on activity and enjoying it, then that's the most important thing! Calories burned walking can be easy to do, and the main reason is - it's easy TO do!
